I'm using OpenOffice on Linux (Ubuntu Gutsy). I have the keyboard set at Multilingual, first part, thus allowing me to type in French. My problem is that sometimes, the special characters won't show up right. For instance, sometimes, the French quotation marks (like this: << ) shows up as this: `. Or the accented A will show up as the inverted "?". AND, there is no way to fix this, since the special character wouldn't appear in the Character Map. For instance, instead of "<<", the Character Map will show "`" instead. Sometimes, if I restart OpenOffice, the problem will fix itself, sometimes, not. This is really annoying me, and i was wondering if there were ways to fix this.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
